Ultra-Broadband and Dual-polarized Antenna with High Isolation for LTE Base Station Applications

An ultra-broadband and dual-polarized antenna for LTE (1700~2700 MHz) base station applications is proposed in this paper. The proposed antenna consists of the radiators, feed structures, and reflector. Specifically, the radiator has a pair of crisscross dipoles to realize dual-polarized. Each dipole is fed by a Y-shaped microstrip stub, which is directly fed by a coaxial cable. The simulated results by HFSS show that the antenna has the operating bandwidth of 1.72~2.72 GHz for S11<−10dB, and an average isolation of 30dB. Besides, the half-power beam width (HPBW) of the antenna is around 75°, and the gain of the antenna has an average gain of 8.5 dBi.
