Performance of a LDPC Code in Ultra Wideband System

Ultra Wideband(UWB) technology has the virtue of very high data rate,low power consumption and low cost,which makes it a promising technology for next generation short range wireless communication.Low Density ParityCheck Codes(LDPC) achieve excellent error performance and permit fully parallelizable high speed decoding.They can even outperform famous Turbo codes when they are long enough.In this paper we investigate the performance of a LDPC code under AWGN channel and Ultra Wideband channels with ideal channel information and compare the results with those of convolutioncoded system.The study shows that the LDPCcoded system has a better performance than the convolutioncoded system.
