The Potential of Solar Thermal in Europe

In this paper, a full analysis of solar thermal application is carried out. The article will cover the technology like collectors and concentrating solar (CSP) and the application like space heating, DHW, industrial heating, food processes, and power generation to use for desalination, cooling, and electricity generation. Although some air heaters are available in the market, they are not as popular as water heaters and therefore they are not discussed. The industrial and market situation and which country is leading the way in Europe is discussed. Another analysis will be carried out regarding the Global solar thermal situation and how much this will affect Europe. Finally, the employment, number of outstanding manufacturers, and cost as well as payback time will be discussed.
