ARCHITECTURAL FAÇADE DESI GN WITH PHOTOVOLTAIC USING CFD

This paper presents the results from a simulation of the buoyancy effect occurring behind photovoltaic modules. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has been applied as a tool to predict airflow and temperatures in a cavity behind a heated panel. The results have been compared with experimental results published in the literature. Further discussion of using CFD in evaluating the performance of passive design of building envelopes integrated with PV is made. A number of design options were generated and evaluated.
