Proceedings of the 6th International Workshop on Foundations of Mobile Computing

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 6th ACM SIGACT-SIGMOBILE International Workshop on Foundations of Mobile Computing (DIALM-POMC), which is being held in conjunction with the 24th International Symposium on Distributed Computing (DISC). The workshop will take place on September 16 in Cambridge, MA. This year's workshop continues its tradition of being a premier forum for presentation of research results and experience reports on the design and analysis of discrete and distributed algorithms, and more generally, the foundations of mobile, wireless, ad-hoc, and sensor networks. DIALM-POMC gives researchers and practitioners a unique opportunity to share their perspectives with others interested in mobile computing, discrete and distributed algorithms. The workshop received 19 valid submissions. Following a thorough review process, 10 papers were accepted as full papers. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Technical Program Committee members for their dedication and help. Collectively, these papers cover a wide range of topics related to the foundations of mobile computing and distributed computing. In addition to this interesting mix of topics covered in the technical sessions consisting of the accepted papers, we are happy and proud to have two outstanding keynote speakers --- one from academic and one from industrial research --- who will offer perspectives on current and future challenges in the area. In particular, the two keynote speakers will be Rajmohan Rajaraman, Professor at the College of Computer & Information Science, Northeastern University, and Ranveer Chandra, Researcher in the Networking Research Group at Microsoft Research in Redmond.
