The Additional Value of Clinimetrics Needs to Be Established rather than Assumed

Accessible online at: www.karger.com/pps There is much to agree and little to disagree with the plea for more emphasis on clinimetrics in psychiatric research by Fava et al. [1]. I would like to comment on he sensitivity of change including the changeability of socalled trait measures, the need for a more dimensional and hierarchical approach in psychiatric assessment, and the value of a functional analysis in treatment planning, primarily based on studies from my research group.
