Development and Application of an Optimization Procedure for Space and Aircraft Structures

The optimization procedure MBB-LAGRANGE allows the opti-mization of homogeneous isotropic, orthotropic or anisotropic struc-tures as well as fibre reinforced materials with respect to weight, static, dynamic, aeroelastic and manufactoring requirements. Design variables are sizing and geometric dimensions. The development is focused on three main topics: optimization algorithms, optimization models and structural analysis with sensitivity analysis. Important for practical applications is the integration into the CAE-environ- ment by the use of standard interfaces.
