Mobile phased array antenna design with low sidelobe pattern by genetic algorithm

This paper presents the low sidelobe pattern design of mobile terminal antenna for satellite communications. This is important to protect from interference from neighbor satellites, which is regularized by such bodies as the ITU. To synthesize the array beam pattern with low sidelobe, the position of array elements is perturbed and optimized by a genetic algorithm. In addition, the illustrative antenna, which is the mobile array antenna with stair-planar configuration for satellite multimedia communication is introduced to verify this optimizing technique.
