Lifetimes and Oscillator Strengths in Singlet Levels of Strontium

Coherence narrowing and collision broadening of the 5s5p1P1 level of strontium have been studied. The natural lifetime of this level has been determined to be 4.68 ± 0.10 ns. The oscillator strength of the 4607 A transition is 1.94 ± 0.06, and the f values of the transitions from the 5s6p, 5s7p, and 5s8p1P1 levels to the ground level and the 5s4d1D2 metastable level have been reevaluated.
