Bandwidth-efficient LDPC coded CO-OFDM for 1-Tb/s superchannel 8000-km SSMF transmission

We evaluate the 1-Tb/s CO-OFDM transmission performance using LDPC-coded 8-QAM and 8-PSK. Equipped with improvement in OSNR sensitivity, we successfully demonstrate 1 Tb/s CO-OFDM over 8000-km SSMF transmission at spectral efficiency of 3.3 bit/s/Hz.
