Apparatus for restraining and removing edge dust of strip casting roll

PURPOSE: An apparatus for restraining and removing edge dust of strip casting rolls is provided to prevent hot-band phenomena generated at the edge of a cast strip by efficiently restraining and removing dust that is generated at the edge part of the rolls in a relatively large amount. CONSTITUTION: In a strip caster in which molten steel(M) injected between twin rolls(20,20') and an edge dam(30) is cast into a strip as the molten steel is being solidified by rotation of the rolls(20,20'), the apparatus for restraining and removing edge dust of strip casting rolls comprises a dust restraining means(50) consisting a main oil vat which is removably installed on edge surfaces(E,E') of the rolls(20,20'), and an oil supply member which is installed in front of the main oil vat so as to supply oil to the roll edges(E,E') with the oil supply member closely adhered onto the edge surfaces(E,E'); and a dust removing means(70) equipped with a knife which is removably installed on the edge surfaces(E,E') adjacently to the dust restraining means(50).
