National Policy and Urban Development

The object of analysis is American urban policy, including both planning and welfare programs. The American urban crisis is described as a product of inequality and uneven development. The character of American urban policy is outlined and contrasted with that of Northern European capitalist societies. American differences are explained in terms of class structure, ideology and political organization.
