COMPUTER AND INFORMATION SCIENCES

CISC 5009. Network Essentials. (3 Credits) This graduate course covers the essentials of designing, building and maintaining a local area network, incorporating all elements of the seven layers of the ISOOSI Model. Students will learn various aspects of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, network topology, network design, hardware configuration, software configuration, installation, and maintenance. Students will gain handson experience by performing the tasks necessary to engineer a working network from the ground up. Attributes: CSCY, CSNS, DATA.
