18 Gas holdup and liquid recirculation in gas-lift reactors

Abstract A model for predicting the liquid recirculation rate in gas-lift reactors was developed. The model relies on experimentally determined correlations for mean gas holdup and frictional pressure drop in two phase bubble flow. Model predictions were found to agree well with experimental measurements of liquid recirculation.
