A two-zone model for aerodynamics, heat-and-mass transfer processes, and combustion in the freeboard space of the furnace of a circulating fluidized-bed boiler

A two-zone steady semiempirical model for the transfer processes in the freeboard space of a circulating fluidized bed reactor was constructed. Many numerical investigations were performed for revealing the features pertinent to the processes of aerodynamics, heat-and-mass transfer, and combustion in the flow core and in the annular wall zone.
