XXIV Progression of Auditory Symptoms in a Patient with Acoustic Neurinoma

The patient was a 19 year old white female presenting stigmata of multiple neurofibromatosis. In 1962 she noted muscular weakness of the left hand, decreased sensation in the right fingers, unsteady gait, and superficial tumors on the scalp, lip and stomach. In 1965 she complained of bilateral suboccipital headaches, difficulty in swallowing, tinnitus on the left side, and bilateral hearing loss.
