A RESEARCH ON COLLECTION EFFICIENCY OF ESP FOR SINTERING DUST

The paper aims to improve the collection efficiency of Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP) with 0.3 m~2 electrical field area for sintering dust. The author has adopted a method of vertical test in determining the data concerned, such as the type of electrode, the dust concentration, power source voltage as well as the gas velocity for his experimental factors as the index values. The test results indicate that high dust concentration may lead to corona discharge block. And, as a result, the ESP collection efficiency may decrease from 96.87% to 87.55% on the condition that the dust concentration rises from 15 g/m~3 to 25 g/m~3. However, when the power source voltage increases from 85 kV to 96 kV,the ESP collection efficiency will decrease from 98.16% to 87.55%. But, if dust resistivity increases, the spiked emitter type electrodes may improve the ESP operation.
