Advanced Manufacturing Techniques for Structurally Integrated Metasurfaces

Two easily scalable manufacturing techniques to realize conformal metasurface antennas embedded in a structural laminate are presented. Given the finite size of the manufactured samples, a numerically simulated ‘reference’ wave was used in the design process to further improve the electromagnetic performance of these antennas. Additionally, only two discrete unit cell geometries were utilized to facilitate the manufacturing process. The measured electromagnetic performance of these antennas will be presented at the conference.
