this article firstly describes the principle of control strategy and puts forward a torque-balancing control strategy for the hybrid electric public bus. Based on the designed control strategies, the simulations are carried out and the results are analyzed under different conditions, and the torque-balancing control strategy was improved on the basis of the efficiency-first ideas of the hybrid system. Finally, experiments are carried out and verify that the efficient-first and torque-balancing control strategy is feasible and reliable. The results show that the hybrid electric bus based on the efficient-first and torque-balancing control strategy can save the fuel consumption about 27.3 percent in comparison with the conventional public bus under the Wuhan urban driving cycle of public bus in China.
