Drawing Process Supplement and Forming Parameter Optimization on High-strength Steel Beams

In view of the automobile firewall crossbeam of high strength steel plate having some defects,such as crack,wrinkle and so on in drawing process,a design method of process complementary flat surface was proposed.The supplement surface was optimized by 3-D CAD software,and the finite element model for drawing simulation of the crossbeam was established.The drawing process was simulated using DYNAFORM software and the influences of the sheet size,the distribution of drawbead,blank holder force,the die's round corner and other parameters on the drawing process were analyzed.The simulation results show that the flat complementary surface improves the sheet metal's formability in the sheet metal drawing process,the beam in forming process has no rip,wrinkle,the maximum thinning ratio after forming is within 30%,which meets the production requirements.The production practice demonstrates the feasibility of the drawing process.
