VoIP 시스템에서 MOS 기반 패킷 결합 기법

This paper proposes a scheme for aggregating voice frames to reduce the VoIP overhead. To guarantee the voice quality of the aggregated voice frames, the proposed scheme considers aggregation delay and packet loss caused by the overflow of Jitter buffer. Performance analysis results show that the proposed scheme can improve the bandwidth efficiency because of the reduced VoIP overhead. The number of users that can be supported is increased by 351.36% when the VoIP system uses G.729a with 200ms of the Jitter buffer. Furthermore, the survey result shows that the voice quality in the VoIP system with the proposed scheme satisfies the recommended quality requirement defined in ITU-T. Therefore, the proposed scheme can efficiently reduce VoIP overheads without the degradation of the voice service quality.
