Flapping Mode Design for Hovering Micromechanical Flying Insect

This paper presents a flapping mode of micromechanical flying insect(MFI),whose wingspan is 10 ~25 mm(wingtip-to-wingtip).The paper studies relationships between the flapping mode and the force and torque caused by the flapping wing,and then designs a flapping mode for hovering MFI.This mode,in which MFI can modulate the flapping parameters to adjust the force and torque,offers a means of control of the MFI.The results of simulation show the reasonableness of the method,and the research have important reference value for the control research of the MFI.
