Cartografía de grandes incendios forestales en la Península Ibérica a partir de imágenes NOAA-AVHRR

Global scale bumed land mapping was approached from NOAA-AVHRR images, since they provkSe properspatial and spectral rasolution for such studies and aasuyaccessiijle. This research was basad on a series of AVHRR data on the Iberian Peninsula covering the summerseason (June to September) of1991,1994 and 1995. A new spectral index, specincally designad for bumed area mapping was applied tafang into account the spectral behaviourofthose areas in the AVHRR red and near infrared bands.
