Obesity and mortality in ESRD: is it good to be fat?

In this issue of Kidney International, Fleischman et al show that low body mass index (BMI) is associated with increased risk of hospitalization and mortality, even after adjusting for such demographic attributes as age and nutritionally-associated serum markers such as serum albumin, prealbumin and creatinine1.
