An Efficient Method for Common Channel Interference Mitigation in WCDMA Downlink

Wide-band code division multiple access (WCDMA), as one of the most important third-generation mobile communication standards, is being supported by most of the telecom operators around the world. On the pace of the network construction and commercial operation of WCDMA system, the cell capacity is playing more and more important rules. Among different kinds of efforts, channel interference mitigation is a very efficient way to enlarge this parameter. In this paper, an efficient method for common channel interference mitigation in downlink of WCDMA system is presented. The complexity of this technique is very low and simulation results show its superior performance to the conventional RAKE receiver and the CPICH interference mitigation receiver proposed in 3GPP technical specification
