Frequency control of an optically pumped Na2 laser

The electronic control of a Na2 dimer laser and of its argon‐ion pump is described. This leads to an extremely narrow emission linewidth (less than 200 Hz) as well as a good amplitude stability and a tunability of a few GHz around each line center.
