MONITORING THE AVERAGE AND VARIABILITY IN MULTIVARIATE PROCESS

ABSTRACT The most popular control charts in the multivariate statistical process are the Hotelling T 2 for process mean and | S | control chart for process variability. In this research, we will propose an alternative which combining the information in both Hotelling T 2 control chart and | S | control chart. We construct a single control chart to monitor the multivariate process mean and variability simultaneously. The average run length will be used to evaluate the performance of new control chart and will be compared with the Hotelling T 2 control chart and | S | control chart.
