Closed-form BER analysis of dual-hop non-regenerative IR-UWB system over multipath channels

In this paper, we investigate the performance of cooperative dual-hop relaying IR-UWB system over multipath fading channel. The non-regenerative relaying scheme instead of regenerative one is taken into consideration in the relay node to reduce the system complexity. Accurate path loss with different distances in different transmission scenarios is presented. The approximate closed form expression about the average system bit error rate (BER) is derived. Simulation results about the path loss and BER performance are provided under IEEE 802.15.3a indoor multipath fading channels. The simulation results and the analysis verify the efficiency of the dual-hop relaying UWB scheme.
