The Influence of Different Basic Medical Insurance on Chinese Residents' Medical Consumption——Based on the CHNS Data

Based on China Health and Nutrition Survey(CHNS,2009),this article empirically analyzes the factors for medical consumption for Chinese residents.It has been found that different medical insurance has different effects on resident medical consumer behavior.The new rural cooperative medical system improves illness treatment probability and reduce medical expenditure of the rural residents to some extent,while other medical insurance system does not.The urban workers' medical insurance increases the residents' medical expenditure,while the new rural cooperative medical system significantly reduces the resident medical cost.The urban residents' medical insurance has no significant effect on medical expense.According to the empirical analysis,the essay raises that the crucial way to realizing the equalization of basic medical consumption is narrowing the gap among different kinds of medical insurance and promoting the connection and integration of medical insurance in urban and rural areas.
