Technologies of rapid coping with large amount of 3D laser scanning data

During the reconstruction of model with 3-D laser scanner,a large amount of data are produced,which result in the slow and non-fluent data accessing,processing and 3-D display.In order to cope with above problems,combining with the current level of computer software and hardware technology,the paper proposes a solution based on several technologies,such as memory mapping,virtual memory,multi-thread,database and OpenGL.An application has been programmed on Windows XP platform by Vc++ 6.0.It is tested with the data acquired by scanning inside of an old architecture.Practices prove that the solution the paper brought forward does well.
