Implementation on 2D-DCT Based on DSP Builder

The image Discrete Cosine Transform(DCT) is an important technique in the field of image compression.How to compress the image accurately and fast has been a research focus both at home and abroad all the time.This paper introduces the theory of DCT and fast algorithm for DCT,accomplishes its hardware design based on DSP Builder.In 2D-DCT,it uses a fast way for data revolution when reading and writing data.Then perform function simulation on Modelsim.6.2.At last,it translates the model into VHDL and compiles it in Quartus Ⅱ,a good result is obtained.
