Optionality in optimality-theoretic syntax

L'existence de l'optionalite, une situation dans laquelle plus d'un gagnant apparait dans un ensemble de candidats, pose un probleme pour la syntaxe basee sur la theorie de l'optimalite. Ce probleme est resolu dans ses grandes lignes par la pseudo-optionalite, une approche selon laquelle l'optionalite implique des gagnants de differents ensembles de candidats. Toutefois, cette solution est mise en question par l'analyse frequente de l'optionalite comme une alternance, qui suggere fortement la presence d'une competition. Les approches formulees en termes de vraie optionalite, de liens (globaux et locaux) et de neutralisation reconnaissent toutes l'existence de competition dans les cas d'optionalite et semblent toutes etre capables de traiter l'optionalite et ses problemes. Dans cet article, l'A. examine en detail ces approches et souligne les ameliorations a apporter afin de developper une syntaxe basee sur la theorie de l'optimalite
