A good practice model for implementation of computer-aided engineering analysis in product development

Competitive pressures in manufacturing industries are leading companies to closely examine the way in which they develop products. Remaining competitive demands that products are developed faster, more economically and to a higher quality. Computer-aided engineering analysis is a particularly powerful and important technique that can assist in meeting these demands. Appropriate implementation in the product development environment is vital, and the present paper proposes a 'good practice model' for integrating computer-aided engineering analysis into the organization of product development. Research in five companies was used as a basis for the model, and the results of the research are presented.
