Myth and Ritual in Psychotherapy

Ce commentaire critique de l'article d'Eliezer Witztum et Yehuda Goodman, paru dans le meme numero, sur la psychotherapie de juifs appartenant a la communaute ultra-orthodoxe Hareidi de Jerusalem, montre que les auteurs ont propose un modele therapeutique, issu de l'hypnotherapie d'Erickson, et fonde autour d'une therapie narrative et strategique. L'originalite de cette approche est l'attention systematique aux aspects culturels lors de la narration des patients sur leur douleur, au mythe personnel et aux metaphores, repris lors de l'avancee de la therapie en respectant le langage du patient. Ce commentaire souligne les particularites culturelles de cette therapie menee dans le cadre d'un fort conservatisme religieux.
