Design of embedded SINS based on FPGA and DSP

This paper presents a new kind of double CPU Strapdown Inertial Navigation System, which adopts Altera company's high performance FPGA(EP1C12Q240I7) and the TI company's high performance DSP(TMS320C6722).The FPGA is used as the main control chip and the DSP is used for the computational coprocessor. Moreover, the advantages of EP1C12Q240I7 chip is its strong control and flexible design capability, while the TMS320C6722 chip has the ability of fast processing speed and floating point processing capability. The communication between PPGA and DSP is achieved through a dual-port RAM.The system meets the requirements of strapdown system owing to its fast sampling, high precision of floating point processing and good stability.
