0.5 W efficient broadly tunable continuous-wave Cr 2+ :ZnSe laser

We report room-temperature operation of a continuous-wave Cr2+:ZnSe laser. Single-pass pumped Cr2+:ZnSe generates 520 mW of tunable radiation between 2200 and 2812 nm at 1.5 W of incident power and 63 % slope efficiency, in the multi-pass pump scheme dual Q-switehed operation at 1,75 and 2,5 µm is observed.
