Image encryption using index based chaotic sequence, M sequence and gold sequence

Chaotic system and Pseudo-random sequences are extremely sensitive to control parameters and initial conditions. This feature is effective in the field of cryptography. Cryptography is about communication in the presence of an adversary. It encompasses many problems like encryption, authentication, and key distribution to name a few. In this paper we encrypted image using Index based Chaotic sequence, M sequence and Gold sequence. The algorithm is experimented on the gray scale image. The Index based Chaotic sequence algorithm permutes the image on the basis of index position of chaotic sequence. The process of permutation is based on storing the index position of the sequence in respected to their sorted value. On rearranging the pixels of the image by mapping it with those index positions using which the image was encrypted. Experimental results demonstrate that the algorithm is sensitive to initial conditions to resist the brute-force attack.
