The Shortage of Special Class Teachers in Large Cities

Sometimes obscured in discussions of teacher shortages are the needs arising from rapidly expanding programs of spe cial education. This is an area of school services which the nation cannot afford to have retarded. Development of such services, already far short of actual need, to the point that educational provisions are made for every handicapped child is imperative. The accompanying article, therefore, contributes appropriately to consideration of "Teachers For Our Schools."
