Tolerance against multiple fault modes and its application to corrective maintenance of faulty actuators in servo systems

We consider tolerance against multiple fault modes of actuators used in servo systems to achieve higher availability performance than that against a single fault mode. Furthermore, using the tolerance, we clearly present a procedure of corrective maintenance of faulty actuators for the first time in the field of fault-tolerant control theory. The presented procedure improves the maintainability performance and repair rates of actuators. After all, the availability performance and practicality of fault-tolerant servo systems using limited integrators is improved.
