Multi-carrier IDMA system for relay aided cooperative downlink communication with transmitter preprocessing

In this letter, we evaluate the performance of Multi-carrier (MC)-interleave division multiple access (IDMA) scheme for co-operative downlink communication where multi-user interference (MUI) and Inter-relay interference (IRI) are the dominant channel impairments. We assume that each user is supported by at least one relay. We consider transmitter preprocessing technique both at the base station and intermediate relays to suppress the effects of MUI and IRI. In particular, we evaluate the bit error rate (BER) performance of MC-IDMA system for co-operative communication with rich scattering effects based on LTE-vehicular channel environments considering both base station to relay and relay to mobile stations. Our computer simulations reveals that the performance of MUTP aided MC-IDMA DL system with relay aided co-operative transmission can be improved by increasing total number of relays between BS and MS.
