도심 오픈스페이스의 형태적 특성이 풍환경에 미치는 영향

The increased interests in urban environmental problems due to the high density in urban areas led to a general consensus on concerns for wind environment. Urban open spaces are public spaces with a lot of activity, at the same time being enclosed spaces with low discharge of pollutants. Hence, in order to pursue a wind-environmentally sound urban open space, this paper analyzes the effects of morphological characteristics of urban open spaces on wind environment. Establishing a base model of an urban open space, simulations applying computational fluid dynamics (CFD) were executed depending on morphological characteristics, before analyzing and evaluating the wind environment. The results show that discontinuity on the surrounding building walls enhances general ventilation, and increased building heights around the open space accelerate wind speed. This research provides ideas for urban design with concerns on wind environment.
