"Cloud-free" multi-scene mosaics of SPOT images

Optical remote sensing images often suffer from the presence of cloud covers, especially over the tropical regions. However, if multiple images acquired at different time over a given region are available, then it may be possible to generate a reasonably cloud-free composite scene by mosaicking the cloud-free areas in the set of images. The authors describe a technique of generating such "cloud-free" scenes for images acquired by the SPOT satellites.
