Multi-stage SIC multiuser detection for MIMO non-orthogonal STBC systems

Successive interference cancellation (SIC) multiuser detector is one of the computationally efficient sub-optimal multiuser detection methods, this paper attempts to apply the multi-stage SIC concept to full rate non-orthogonal space-time block coded (NOSTBC) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. With 4 transmitting antennas and p, where p =1, 2, 3 and 4, receiving antennas, the multi-stage SIC multiuser detector is able to make substantially improvement on bit-error-rate (BER) performance and system capacity compared to the decorrelating detectors for different antenna configurations in Rayleigh fading channel
