Claim Size Processes

This article is a survey of claim size processes. We present an overview of the renewal process model, and both the light-tailed and the heavy-tailed claim distributions are discussed. Recent developments in the insurance risk models in which the claim size processes are nonstationary or have dependence structure are also covered. Keywords: renewal processes; heavy-tailed claim distributions; nonstationary claim processes; linear models; dependent risks
