Scintillation probe profiles 200 East Area crib monitoring wells

Scintillation probe profiles from 154 monitoring wells located in 200 East Area have been compiled for input into the Long Term Management of Low Level Waste Project's data base. A thallium activated sodium iodide scintillation system and the scintillation equipment and instrumentation used to log these monitoring wells are described. In addition, waste management applications of scintillation probe profiles are discussed including the determination of the distribution of gamma emitting radiocontaminants and the identification of stratigraphic units.
