As the society changes more complicatedly, pluralistically and
the formats of thought structure change from idealistic, unitary,
rigid system to empirical, pluralistic, dynamic system, so do
the methodology of architectural history. Especially the
methodology of history of modern architecture is incessantly
being reconstructed by new understanding and methodology for
the relationship of modern capitalistic society and cultural
phenomenon.
As the one of the attempts of reconstructing method of the history
of modern architecture accomodating advanced theory of the
human-social science, for the more proper interpretation of
history of modern architecture, I propose "The Dialectical
Structuralistic Method" which is a dynamic system for the
connection of the strand of architectural history and the
synchronic-diachronic sematic context through the relationship
of architecture. man.social structure.
I construct the dialectical structuralistic method on the basis
of the Mukarovsky's structuralistic aesthetics. It consists of
the relationship of two system of the force-field of Age-spirits
which is the transformation of L.Goldman's sociological method
of literature based on T.Adorno's aesthetic theory and the
multilevel semantic relationship method which is the
transformation of R.Barthes's semiotic method.
