원심펌프의 성능변화에 따른 펌프 상사법칙 적용에 관한 연구

An air-conditioning system can run at the maximum efficiency if a specific quantitative cooling and heating resource is provided for cooling and heating loads. Thus, it is necessary to test, adjust, and balance such air-conditioning systems. This can be achieved using precise equipment for measurement in order to extend the life and optimize the efficiency of heat source equipment according to its function in a building. This study investigates a pump capacity control method when a rating operation will not possible because the rating values (the quantity of flow, head, and current) of a centrifugal pump for cooling water circulation for an air-conditioning distribution system are not consistent with actual design conditions. From the results of the test applied in this study, the employed system could not operate due to motor overload. This is due to the quantity of flow, head, and current values exceeding normal levels when the designed and manufactured pump is connected to a piping system installed in an actual setting. To comply with the rating performance of a centrifugal pump using the law of similarity, the outer diameter of a centrifugal pump impeller is configured to a length of 317㎜ to 320mm. The measured results of the quantity Of flow, head, and current are adjusted to a rating flow of 100%, a rating head of 92~97%, and a rating current of 88~91%. The energy required in the pump, i.e., the current, could be reduced by approximately 10%.
