NEW DATA ON THE VELOCITY DISTRIBUTION OF H(2S) ATOMS PRODUCED BY DISSOCIATIVE EXCITATION OF H .

New structure has been observed in the time-of-flight distribution of $\mathrm{H}(2S)$ atoms produced by electron bombardment of ${\mathrm{H}}_{2}$. The observed time-of-flight peaks are so located as to agree with the interpretation that the dissociative excitation proceeds predominantly through predissociation of intermediate bound states.
