The main elements of sustainable food chain management

Like all other human activity, the production and consumption of food has an impact upon the environment. The food chain covers the agricultural production and its inputs, processing, distribution and consumption of food. The concept of „sustainability" has been integrated into manufacturing industry in recent years, but only recently has this concept been incorporated into food production, where it mainly focuses on agricultural production processes and the conversion of agricultural products into final food products.
