CLASSIFICATION METHOD OF COUNTER-MESHING GEARS MECHANISM

Counter-meshing gears (CMG) mechanism is a discrimination mechanism mainly used in high consequence systems, and discrimination-teeth coding is its kernel design issue. To get optimum coding result with minimum gear levels, classification method of CMG mechanism is studied from the point of view of its coding characteristics. With pre-proposed maze mapping method, the CMG mechanism is classified as three types by maze attributes and unlocking-route topologies. The second type is novel, which can be reset, locks up immediately with any wrong code symbol, and easy to code. Some important concepts and analysis method are also presented, which are foundations to understand CMC's structure, principle and design.
